My partner and I are on the hunt to find the best bossam in LA so we decided to stop by kobawoo to give theirs a try! Overall, their bossam was super juicy and tender and we loved the toppings they provided. It didn't end up being our absolute favorite but still hit the spot. We also got the kimchi pancake which was definitely on the saltier side. Service was super attentive and the space was cozy and clean!

Came here with the family for a quick lunch bite and it did not disappoint!! It's nice and quiet inside, with lots of woody decor and the tables and seats reminded me of Korean Buddhist temples LOL idk why that was my first thought but it was nice We got the bulgogi lunch combo that comes w kimchi stew, bossam lunch combo + soybean stew, spicy broiled fish, and potato pancake I luvvv that the rice that they serve is the purple rice cus that's my absolute favorite!! My family and I really enjoyed everything. My favorite was the bossam and the potato pancake. The pancake was super crispy and the kimchi stew was so hearty & packed w pork. It reminded me of my grandpa's kimchi stew Service was really good and our server was extremely attentive. I drank sm water yet he came and refilled my water constantly which I really appreciated Defo will have to come back to try some more stuff on the menu :)

I'm not sure but I think Kobawoo can be a hit or miss sometimes. The first time I went, I was stoked because they're known for their bossam, one of my favorite Korean dishes! But when I tried it, I wasn't that impressed. But, I recently went again with some of my friends and it was AMAZING. Definitely one of the best ones I've tried in ktown. Maybe it's cuz my friends were Korean and knew to order the fresh garlic slices and other sauces that they don't automatically give you. So pro-tip, definitely ask for garlic and sambal! However, why I'm really here is to tell y'all about another dish that is freakin' amazing at Kobawoo House: Eundaegu Jjorim. It's a braised fish (black cod,I believe) dish that is marinated and stewed in a decadent ultra umami & savory sauce, complete with lemon and soft mushy radishes-- they tasted like potatoes. I was so shook how good it was. I highly recommend trying it, but be aware that there might be some very thin bones hiding in there! Btw, their portion sizes are HUGE. The service is decent enough and I love the authentic feel of the restaurant. Definitely one of the top 5's in ktown, and highly recommended :) Ps. Parking is valet only and $3, from what I remember.

We had lunch here yesterday with some friends (4 of us total). Bosum - 5/5. Their specialty is "bosum" the steamed pork that comes with steamed cabbage and radish (used as wrappings) and spiced radish used for filling. Absolutely delicious. This is the go-to restaurant in LA for this dish. Janban Guksoo - 4/5. Spicy noodles with lots of vegetables. A big portion that can easily feed 2 (or more!). Braised Black Cod - 4/5. Spicy casserole in the typically prepared Korean style. Good version, the portion size is slightly on the small side? Great lunch, look forward to going back.

i heard this is a great spot for bossam and had to check it out. the wait was extremely long on a sunday afternoon, and the service is pretty slow. it's a bit dark inside and they have a good amount of tables, but they don't use up all of them probably because of the lack of employees. this might have just been a weird occasion for when i visited, and i still think you should check it out! regardless, i love the side dishes, and the actual food here is exceptional!! bossam - probably not the best i've had in ktown, but still delicious! they have several sizes, and the small was enough for 3-4 people if you want to order other dishes stir fried calimari - not a huge fan of octopus, but this was delicious. so much flavor, and i love the surplus of onions and the pieces of rice cake! kimchi jjigae - this was perfection! i would come back just for this. the meat is so good, there is so much kimchi in this, and the soup is just so comforting kimchi pancake - i've said everything is good here, but this is the dish that really sets kobawoo apart! so so crunchy and flavorful, i'm absolutely obsessed. it is a little salty, but i loved it

I was seriously craving Bossam and I narrowed my choice between Kobawoo or Mister Bossam. After swinging by Mister Bossam and finding them closed, the decision was made for me! Kobawoo House it was! It was so delicious and totally satisfied my craving! The boyfriend and I split a medium portion and ordered kimchi jeon as well. Everything was perfect! It was the perfect amount. The perfect portion. Perfect flavor. Perfect. If you never had Bossam, you got to try it here! It's so satisfying. You eat meat and get a daily serving of veggies. Parking is valet lot for $3, which was fine by me! It just means no ticket!
